Fourth Wall Breaking: He doesn't know plot. He is just aware that he is a character. Forces him to adhere to the rules of whatever world he is dropped into.
Wayne Winston was a soldier turned mercenary working for a corrupt governmental organization called Falcon, that would send him on missions to do very bad things. One such mission involved an experimental bio weapon that Falcon created. The purpose of this bio agent was to kill from the inside out and no antidote was made. Wayne was sent with a group of mercenaries to test the bio weapon on a village out in the middle of no where when his hazmat suit got ripped and he got infected. Not wanting to lose one of their best weapons they took him to their best doctor who basically said, "The bio weapon is doing what you made it to do. He is going to die." In a last ditch effort they sent him to a facility called The Dump. A place where organizations send their agents or soldiers that are dying to be experimented on, essentially their "trash". By the time he arrived he was already looking like he should be dead. They placed him in the basement where they kept their "patients", that had a dirt floor with a hole filled with sulfuric acid in the center. Where they would dispose of their failed experiments. They called it the kill pond. Everyone placed bets on how soon he would end up there. Over time they would inject him with experimental super soldier serums and supernatural dna such as vampires, werewolves, demons, and other random supernatural dna. All of that mixed together in his system would give him his healing ability. Also all those dna's mixed with the bio weapon still in his blood would also make his blood toxic to supernatural creatures that would try to bite him or feed on him. It wouldn't kill them, it would just make them physically and violently sick. They would also cut pieces off of him just to see how fast they grew back. When his healing ability manifested, it would heal his body back to the state it was in. So his body is horribly scarred and covered in dried up tumors and boils due to the bio weapon. During the experiments he would die, causing him to pass between life and death many times. While crossing between the two so much he saw what his world actually was, and he became aware that he was just a character. Eventually he would escape out of his restraints by breaking his thumb and slipping out, as it would just heal back. He then proceeded to go throughout the facility and slaughter every doctor that tortured him and burn the facility to the ground. When he was free he knew that mercenary work was all he knew but nobody would hire Wayne Winston how he looked now. So he made a suit and became Killpond based on the bet everyone had on him.

Other information
Killpond was originally created for a Mutants and Masterminds tabletop roleplaying game. Yes he is based on Deadpool. That game lasted for about 8 years and over time he has become his own character. When that game ended I wasn't done with him. During the course of the game at one point Killpond gets sucked through a portal and bounced around alternate universes. So when his original world was destroyed, a residual effect caused him to phase into another world. Past relationships
How he met Enrique:
During a botched mission Killpond ran out of a warehouse and the first thing he saw was a taco truck. He jumped into the back and just started yelling, "Drive! Drive! Drive!" The owner of the taco truck was so startled he just jumped into the driver seat and started driving. This was Enrique and he would become Killpond's best friend. The only thing Enrique ever says or responds with is "Si". Eventually he would teach Killpond everything he knew about being a cook and Killpond would help Enrique with his taco truck as a side job. Eventually Enrique would get his US citizenship and go to college for a business degree. Opening up his own chain of taco restaurants called "Si" and using Killpond's masked face as the logo.True love:
At one point the super team Killpond was a part of broke up and he eventually ran into another superhero called The Eagle. Jessica Lockhart had no super powers, she was rich and had gadgets, a supped up car, and a lair. At one point they would start dating. He would later find out that she had cancer and was dating him to study his healing ability in an effort to cure her own cancer. This hurt him a bit so he left the relationship. Some months later he received a message from her that she just wanted to talk. She was dying and expressed to him that she had actually fallen in love with him and his healing ability wasn't the only reason she was with him. He held her hand as she eventually passed away. At the funeral he gave the eulogy and placed a ring on her finger as she laid in her coffin.The Daughter:
Sometime later he would be visited by a 16 year old girl claiming to be his daughter. Jessica had gotten pregnant while they were dating and was basically studying her in hopes she inherited Killpond's healing ability. She died before she could tell him about their daughter. As it would turn out the child would inherit a version of his healing ability. But it made her age faster than normal. This 16 year old girl, was actually only 3 years old when she found him. She would become his sidekick K-pond.
